The Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx - who’s new movie is called The Kingdom - expressed his support for Britney after he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - one of the most amazing days of his life.

Reports say the R&B singer and Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has signed up to star in a musical biopic titled The Soloist. Jamie is a great actor, he won the best actor Academy Award for playing Ray Charles in “Ray”, this role could represent a second award for him, as the actor will play the part of Nathaniel Anthony Ayers, a schizophrenic homeless musician whose biggest wish is to play at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The musical biopic is a DreamWorks film project and will be directed by Joe Wright (”Atonement”, “Pride and Prejudice”) while Susannah Grant (”Erin Brockovich”) adapted the screenplay. Inside the movie team are also Gary Foster (”Ghost Rider,” “Elektra”) and Russ Krasnoff who are set to produce, while Tim Bevan is executive producing having Rikki Lea Bestall as co-producer. The musical is based on a “12-part series of articles that was written by Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez called ‘From Skid Row to Disney Hall’”.
The Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards were held on September 8th in Atlanta and as it was expected the R&B Celebrity Mariah Carey was the big winner of the night. The diva took home top R&B/Hip-Hop artist, hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs artist, top R&B/Hip-Hop albums artist and top R&B/hip-hop album for her multi-platinum set “The Emancipation of Mimi.” Among other celebrities, the Hip-Hop star Kanye West won top rap album for “Late Registration” and also hot rap track for “Gold Digger” featuring Jamie Foxx while Jermaine Dupri - who won top R&B/Hip-Hop songwriter and top R&B/Hip-Hop producer - was named the first recipient of the Otis Redding Excellence Award ( an award which was launched this year to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Redding’s death ) for his achievements both in and outside the studio.

Nominees for the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards were announced yesterday, just a day before its 25th anniversary. Colombian cutie Shakira and California rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers got seven nominations including one each for Video of the Year while the diva Madonna, Pete Wentz’ prodigies Panic! At The Disco and pop princess Christina Aguilera got 4 nominations. Honourable mentions went to Chris Brown, AFI and Gnarls Barkley, taking three nods and Kanye West and Rihanna, who each got two nominations.
Performers set to take the stage of the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony will include Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, The Killers, T.I., Ludacris and Panic! At The Disco. The Raconteurs have also been tapped to provide the soundtrack for the evening. No host or presenters have been named, and more performers are expected to be announced shortly.
