Newly engaged Levi Johnston has expressed his regret at missing out on “a lot” of his young son Tripp’s life.
Eighteen-month-old Tripp is the only child of Johnston and Bristol Palin. The couple split in March last year, but announced this week they had reunited and planning on tieing the knot.
‘I’ve missed out on a lot of his life, and I can’t get that back,’ he explained to Us magazine.
‘Seeing him walk or crawl for the first time, or his first word… I missed all that. More importantly, I am here now, and I am going to make it right.’
On their decision to rekindle their romance, Bristol Palin enthused: ‘It just feels right to be family.’
Reacting to news of the young couple’s marriage plans, Sarah and Todd Palin said earlier this week in a statement read on the Today show: “Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children.
‘Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put into practice in our daily lives.’
