Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody has become a mum for the first time after giving birth to son Marcello.

The 32-year-old star and husband Dan Maurio welcomed their little boy on July 27 after announcing the news they were expecting in April.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘We had our boy early this morning! Marcello Daniel Maurio, 7lbs, 2 oz, lightly mustachioed.’

Cody is best known for writing the scripts to movies such as Juno, which starred Ellen Page and Michael Cera, as well as United States of Tara and Jennifer’s Body, starring Megan Fox.

Cody married Maurio last year but only revealed the news in April when they also announced they were expecting.
