Sylvester Stallone has revealed his is considering swapping acting for directing.
The Rocky and Rambo star – who turns 64 next month and has had a career spanning over 40 years – told an audience at a special talk at the Los Angeles Film Festival this week his latest film The Expendables may well be his last.
Stallone said: “I now, at my age, approach every film like this could be the last one.”
He added: “I’m on borrowed time. At this age I hear the ticking clock and it’s as loud as the gong on Big Ben.”
But the actor is inspired by fellow veteran Clint Eastwood, not to leave the business altogether but to move behind the camera and pursue his career in movies as a director, the Daily Express reports.
He said: “The ultimate ambition is to follow in Clint Eastwood’s footsteps and move on to directing films without me having to be in them.
“I’m on borrowed time and know my longevity will be predicated on being able to make that move.”
