Talent runs deep in the Sidibe family!
On Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent,” Gabourey Sidibe’s mom, Alice Tan Ridley, dazzled the judges and audience during her audition with a stirring performance of Etta James’ “At Last.”
“Sing it, mama!” host Nick Cannon said during her performance.
Alice, who has performed for two decades in subway stations around New York City, had the audience on their feet by the end of her song.
“Alice, millions of people must have gone back and forth on that subway over the 20 years. How come nobody signed you?” judge Sharon Osbourne asked following her song.
“Thank you so much,” an overjoyed Alice said.
“What an amazing voice,” new judge Howie Mandel said. “I love what you did and you deserve to be heard by much more than everybody on the train.”
Piers Morgan was in agreement with his colleagues at the judges’ table, adding, “In terms of raw talent, the best audition of the day.”
The 58-year-old earned her way to the next round and scored a trip to Las Vegas for the “AGT” semi-finals.
