“American Idol” finalist and local favorite Crystal Bowersox will take the stage for the show’s final competition this week, and area fans may have the chance to cheer her on  in front of a national audience.

The Huntington Center in downtown Toledo will host a viewing party for the community to watch the season finale of “American Idol” on Wednesday, May 26.  The expected crowds of supporters could be featured on FOX’s nationwide results show broadcast.  Doors to the Huntington Center will open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.  Admission is on a first come, first serve basis.

The City of Toledo and Lucas County will also host a block party in downtown Toledo prior to the viewing party.  The party will be held on Huron St. between Jefferson and Madion beginning at 5:00 p.m. and goes on until 7:00 p.m.

Bowersox, 24, is slated join fellow American Idol castmates for a performance of “American Idol Live” at the downtown Toledo arena on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010.
