Swiping aside rumors of a split, Jessica Biel was smiling and playing the dutiful girlfriend at Justin Timberlake’s show last night. When Buzz asked her about JT’s knack for putting his own daily outfit together, Biel declared with sass, “My man don’t do nothing wrong!”
As for her own role in the new collection, she couldn’t say whether she provided any inspiration. Muse or not, JT’s parents love Biel, and chatted happily with her before the show. “She is so down to earth and real,” beamed Lynn Harless, JT’s mom, in with JT’s dad from Memphis.
Mom agreed that her son can do no wrong and is, in fact, a perfectionist. “When he was only 2,” she told Buzz, “he would spend 20 minutes rubbing the tiniest speck of dirt or smudge off his shoe.”
Asked if she thinks Biel is the one, Harless crossed her fingers and closed her eyes with hope.
* NO IRONING
John Malkovich may be launching a line of $3,500 overcoats, but don’t expect other veteran actors to follow suit. Michael Douglas told Buzz yesterday backstage at Michael Kors that he has limited interest in clothes. “Comfort is the key for me. It’s all I’m really looking for in the way of clothes.” He is especially attracted to the comfortable-looking “wrinkled material” in Kors’ show, although it’s hard to know if he was referring to the silk, cashmere or suede garments on display, since all of them were pretty crumpled.
* RUNWAY DAY CARE
Kids are a Fashion Week staple this season, with editors like Gloria Baume of Teen Vogue bringing a little girl to Erin Fetherston, Sasha Charnin Morrison of Us Weekly bringing her two boys to Herve Leger, and Harriet Mays Powell of New York mag bringing her kids to DvF and Leger. Reverend Run’s kid, who’s 15, showed up on his own at Y-3. But Narciso Rodriguez’s right-hand woman, Kathy Kalesti, took the kid fad to the next level by bringing Marcus, 14, and Annick, 11, to the designer’s after-party at the Boom Boom Room. Not that the offspring were all that impressed. As Marcus told Buzz, “It was more fun last year when I got to talk to Kanye West.”
* HEY, WHO’S THAT GRRRRL?
The difference between 31 and 17 is the difference between life and death in model years. No one seems to know this better than 31-year-old Angela Lindvall, who walked up to Karlie Kloss, 17, backstage at Michael Kors yesterday and demanded icily, “What’s your name?” Considering Kloss was Vogue’s most featured model last year, Buzz can only assume Lindvall already knew the answer to her own question.
* WILD KNIGHT
Rumors are swirling of a top-secret exclusive performance by none other than Sir Mick Jagger at the L’Wren Scott after-party tonight. Kenmare co-owner Nur Khan has indeed mentioned to Buzz that a special surprise is in store — and he’s been known to drink and dine with the knighted rock megastar.
* FASHION STREAK
Fashion Week became Fashion Streak outside the W Lounge, as guests watched two girls with walkie-talkies rush half-naked male model Matvey Lykov from Ecco Domani to Perry Ellis while guests including “90210″ actress Jessica Stroup and NFL malcontent Terrell Owens waited for the show to begin. Although the half-dressed hunk seemed to be enjoying the experience, his face turned a shade of red not yet seen on the runway this season when Buzz inquired about the disrobed dash. It seems the in-demand Lykov had been booked for both shows and, because Domani started fashionably late, the Fusion agency hunk had just enough time to slide on his pants before Ellis organizers came to fetch him.
* LITERARY LUST
Michael Stipe was weighed down by knowledge at yesterday’s Jeremy Scott show. Instead of carrying the gift bags (which contained condoms) that we’ve seen toted around this week, Stipe showed up with two massive bags from The Strand bookshop.
* AFTER THE TONE
Ozzy Osbourne seems to be focusing his singing career on his daughter’s voice mail. “Every single day my dad leaves a message on my voice mail singing some stupid song or saying. ‘Please leave a message after the tone, please leave a message after the tone,’ ” the ubiquitous Kelly Osbourne joked with Buzz at the Jeremy Scott show yesterday. She added that Ozzy Googles photos of her at shows and tells her how lovely she looked.
* HOT IN HERE!
Speaking of Kelly Osbourne, she was doing the media thing backstage at Nanette Lepore yesterday when the crush of cameras became too much. “It’s getting hot in here!” Kelly cried, signaling “Fashion News Live” host Rocco Leo Gaglioti to swoop down, lift her into his arms and go running into the private Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge. The LA-based Gaglioto says he has given the same code words to other celebs, and once went running from a press conference with Jenna Jameson in his arms.
