She’s baa-aack.
Céline Dion will return to Las Vegas for a brand-new show next year.
“It’s happening!” Dion says of the upcoming three-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where she ended a five-year run of sold-out shows in 2007. “Great songs, great lyrics. I think it’s going to be very touching.”
Dion and husband/manager René Angélil are hoping there will be someone special in the audience when the show kicks off on March 15, 2011: a new baby.
The singer, who discusses her fertility struggles in this week’s PEOPLE cover story is trying IVF for the fifth time in hopes of making her 9-year-old son René-Charles a big brother.
Backed by 31 musicians, Dion’s new show will feature “all the songs from my repertoire that people want to hear,” along with a selection of music from classic Hollywood films, she says. “I just love the big orchestra and the beautiful black-and-white movies and romance.”
For this Vegas run, Dion – the world’s top earner in concert and album sales for the past decade – has scheduled most of her 70 annual performances around her son’s school calendar.
“I’ll balance my showbiz life with my most important job: motherhood”
