Charlie Sheen hearing in Aspen postponed

By Aspen Times.com

ASPEN — A hearing to determine whether actor Charlie Sheen can have contact with his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, was vacated Monday.

Sheen’s attorneys have modified their motion to lift the entire mandatory protection order, which also prohibits him from harassing witnesses and possessing firearms and alcohol.

They have modified the motion, and are now lobbying for just allowing Sheen to have contact with his wife, Aspen prosecutor Arnold Mordkin said Tuesday.

A hearing for the no-contact provision has not been scheduled, Mordkin said. Mordkin plans to argue to keep the entire protection order in place.

Sheen, 44, the star of the CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men,” was arrested Christmas Day in Aspen on domestic violence allegations. He faces a class-four felony charge of second-degree assault, a class-five felony charge of menacing and a domestic violence count.

He has yet to be charged, but a filing of information is expected to be made no later than Feb. 8, his first scheduled court appearance.
