All the “Friends” fans devastated to hear that rumors of a big screen reunion were just a hoax may find some solace in this news.
Matt Le Blanc is returning to the small screen in a new Showtime series entitled “Episodes,” according to Variety. The show takes a satirical look at American television, when a British couple’s successful comedy series gets transformed into a dumb American sitcom, starring LeBlanc. Not surprisingly, “Episodes” is created in part by the BBC.
And who better to personify American stereotypes than the man who played the Joey Tribniani for a full decade? LeBlanc, 42, should have it easy this time around – after all, he gets to play himself.
“I am really excited to be working with Showtime and the BBC,” LeBlanc said. “And I am so glad I got the part, seeing someone else play Matt LeBlanc would have been devastating.”
He’ll be working alongside creators David Crane of “Friends” fame and his partner Jeffrey Klarik of “Mad About You.”
“Episodes,” which will be shot on both sides of the pond, will premiere on Showtime and BBC Two in 2010.

Wow, he’s a hairy man-beast now isn’t he? ;P
The series sounds good, though. Hope it doesn’t turn out like many of the other sitcoms that star actors from previous big sitcoms (seinfeld, friends etc.).
