Dame Elizabeth Taylor held a private screening of Michael Jackson’s This Is It last weekend. She invited close friends of the late King of Pop to watch with her at MGM, with whom she had a long acting contract.
Taylor and Jackson were close friends for years, bonding over the fact that they were both childhood stars, and faced a lot of tabloid rumors. Taylor also invited Jackson’s entire staff to watch the film, which gives a detailed look at what was to be Jackson’s final tour.
Taylor is usually seen in a wheelchair due to health problems, but people at the screening said she was able to sit in a theater seat and led a standing ovation when the film finished. She reportedly said that the film was ‘genius’ and ‘magnificent.’
This Is It hits theaters on Oct. 28, and there will be a review here of the film.
