NEW YORK — Mackenzie Phillips reveals she had a sexual relationship with her father, John Phillips, a member of the ’60s Mamas and the Papas band.
People magazine says Phillips writes in her new book, “High on Arrival,” that she had sex with her father on the night before she was to get married in 1979.
Phillips starred on TV’s “One Day at a Time.”
The magazine’s Web site says Phillips writes: “I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father.”

I’ve been absolutely livid and outraged since Mack Phillips made her trashy issues public.
How dare her claim that she’s trying to help others. Her so-called “help” is nothing but her selfish needs and her playing off the fame that she has by association only with the Mamas and Papas.
I can’t use all the expletives I would like to call her. She had no regard for her mother, her sisters and the rest of her extended family and their feelings. It was all about her and all she’s doing is promoting a trashy book. She and her publicist know that “sex sells.”
How dare her lump her “consentual relationship” into the mix of true molestation, rape and incest that children have endured for years and there was nothing consentual about it.
She should be ashamed of herself for what she’s doing and Oprah is no better with her promoting this filth and fraud.
And anyone who says Mackenzie isn’t or wasn’t mentally ill is a liar. Anyone who willingly has sex with their father for that many years has mental and emotional illness, not to mention her drug addiction. People get addicted to drugs BECAUSE they have mental and emotional problems. She’s a piece of trash IMO.
I feel sorry for her mother and the rest of her family for what this selfish b*tch has done to all of them. The only reason she’s on Oprah or her story is noticed at all is because of her famous mother and father.
She’s 50 years old and she hasn’t “healed” from this yet? How convenient to make a few bucks by using your dead father in this shameful manner.
