Paris Hilton wins lawsuit over ‘Pledge This!’ promotional duties

Paris Hilton has won a lawsuit filed by investors in her bomb “”Pledge This!,” who claimed the overexposed socialite didn’t do enough to promote the movie, the Associated Press reports.

They sued her for $8.3 million — the amount they claim the film would have made had she properly promoted it — but a federal judge rejected the argument. The judge also sided with Hilton, who claimed the producers’ marketing plans were feeble at best and made last-minute publicity requests that couldn’t be reconciled with her busy schedule.

“The court finds compelling evidence in the record that ‘Pledge This!’ lost money because the film’s inexperienced producers hastily cobbled together a wholly inadequate marketing plan,” the judge writes. “They sent scattershot requests to their principal star in the hopes that she could find time to promote a sinking ship.”
