Scottish tough guy Gerard Butler has been charged with criminal battery after allegedly beating up a photographer last year.
The Los Angeles City Attorney filed the charge on Wednesday after investigating claims the “300″ star attacked a paparazzo outside the premiere party for theGuy Ritchie film “RocknRolla.”
Reports suggest Butler left Crown Bar and took exception to the snapper, punching him in the mouth.
The actor’s representatives insist the photographer was stalking the star, almost killing a pedestrian as he chased the Scot through Hollywood.
According to TMZ.com, Butler is due in court for an arraignment on June 10.
