Here’s the cover art for “If U Seek Amy,” the controversial third single from Britney Spears’ platinum-selling album, Circus. “If U Seek Amy” was announced as a single by Spears official website on January 7, 2009. The track was co-written and produced by Max Martin, who also wrote previous hits for Spears, including “…Baby One More Time” and “Oops!… I Did It Again”. I was saying ‘the controversial third single’ because Britney Spears has been forced to rerecord her upcoming single after radio stations across America threatened to ban the song. The song contains the chorus “All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to, If You Seek Amy”, which quickly, sounds like “Fuck me.” Several US radio stations were not pleased with the lyrics which were obviously too offensive for air.
According to The Sun, Britney Spears decided to return to the studio to rerecord the track, removing the “k” from the end of “seek” in a bid to avoid further controversy. It seems Jive Records-created edit of the song that changes “Seek” to “See” 19 times.
