As previously reported Mariah Carey is in discussions to create a Broadway show based on her life. The musical would showcase some of the darkest moments in Mariah’s career, including the her divorce from Tommy Mottola and her physical and emotional breakdown in the 2000s.

But wait! Rumors says she wants the best-selling British songstress Leona Lewis to play her the Broadway musical. Mariah Carey is the first artist to have her first five singles top the US Billboard 100 chart, from her discovery at age 20 so it is going to be really hard to find someone to be believable when playing the role.

Mariah’s not sure if she’ll star in it herself. If she doesn’t, names being tossed around include High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria. But Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.
