U2 singer Bono was honored with the Prix de L’édition 2008 during the 9th Nobel Peace Prize Summit. The 48-year-old singer received “Man of Peace” prize during the event which was held at Hotel de Ville in Paris, France recently, for his charity efforts in Africa fighting diseases and poverty. Stars like Penelope Cruz and France’s first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy were there to support Bono. Are Penelope and Bone together? Who knows! But as mentioned before, Penelope Cruz has always been a big fan, is more then thrilled to spend some time with Bono, being impressed with his dedication to the world.

This is a very big award for me, because let’s be honest this is as close as I am going to get—as close as a rock star is ever going to get to the Nobel Peace Prize. I am an over-awarded, over-rewarded rock star. You are the people who do the real work. So I am very, very pleased to be in such esteemed company.
