Academy Award winner Charlize Theron has been named a United Nations Messenger Of Peace for her work in ending violence against women. The actress was spotted at the press conference for the UN Messenger of Peace Induction Ceremony at the United Nations building in New York City, wearing sporting a long black wool overcoat overtop a black dress with black heels.
Being named a United Nations Messenger Of Peace means that Charlize Theron joins nine other U.N. Messengers of Peace, who promote U.N. activities through public appearances on different issues for the organization. Among them are Hollywood actors George Clooney and Michael Douglas, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel.
