Selena Gomez Named UNICEF Spokesperson

According to recent news, the U.S. teen actress-singer Selena Gomez has been named spokeswoman for the 2008 “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF” campaign. “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF,” a program which has raised more than $140 million to date, encourages U.S. children to raise money for children around the world while they collect their own candy on Halloween. Obviously Selena Gomez, who is the star of Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” is extremely excited to be this year’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson.

We are thrilled to have Selena be a part of the ‘Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF’ program this year. Young people can relate to Selena, and she is a great role model who we believe will greatly enhance the visibility of the program.
- said Caryl Stern, president and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF -

Selena is a modest girl and I think that she will do well as the Spokesperson of UNICEF.
