Jimmy Kimmel and Julianne Hough announced the nominees for the 2008 American Music Awards on Tuesday, October 14. For the second year runnning, American Music Awards Nominee (AMA) winners will be determined by online voting at amavote.com, the official voting location (votes will be collected from October 14 to November 7). The 2008 American Music Awards will broadcast on ABC live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on November 23rd.

Celebrities like The Jonas Brother, Pink, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift, the Pussycat Dolls, and New Kids on The Block are scheduled to perform at the 36th annual ceremony.
