The Grammy-winning pop star Britney Spears will open the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night in Hollywood, MTV confirmed recently. It is true that Britney won’t be performing, but MTV Networks Music Group President Van Toffler explained the star’s VMA return will bring as something “fun and unexpected.” Lets not forget that Britney Spears is nominated for three VMA trophies! That’s fun and unexpected too!
I think for Britney, people are rooting for her, and she’s really on the road to recovery. It feels like it’s her yea. It’s our 25th anniversary of the VMAs, and she’s been such a critical piece of MTV’s history.
