Rihanna and Jay-Z were teaming up for a good cause in Abuja to kick off the THISDAY Music and Fashion Festival on Friday night (July 11). Rihanna performed for the fans, Pon de Replay, before Turn Me On Boy and Shut Up and Drive. The Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z joined her for her biggest hit to date, Umbrella. After that Jay-Z was solo on the stage performing his hit single Show Me What You Got before offering up a one-sided rendition he and Beyonce’s duet, Crazy in Love.
This year’s edition of the THISDAY Music and Fashion Festival which is the third is designed to celebrate the best of Africa and the message of the festival titled Africa Rising is to send inform the international community that what Africa needs is not aid and grant but massive investment in infrastructure and microfinance.
