The 7th annual MTV Video Music Awards Japan took place at the Saitama Super Arena on Saturday on May 31. The awards ceremony was hosted by award-winning performing artist Cyril and included performances by celebrities like Mariah Carey and Fergie.

Among the winners were Exile with Best Album of the Year, Mariah Carey picked up the Video Vanguard Award and Fergie took home Best Female Video.

The night’s award winners included:

Best Male Video – Ne-Yo (Because of You Because of You)

Best Female Video – Fergie (Big Girls Don’t Cry Big Girls Don’t Cry)

Best Group Video – m-flo loves & Ryohei & Emyli & Yoshika & Lisa (Love Comes and Goes)

Best New Artist Video – Hata Motohiro (Squamous (Scale))

Best Video of the Year – EXILE (I Believe I Believe)

Best Rock Video – Radwimps (Custom-made)

Best Pop Video – Avril Lavigne (Girlfriend)

Best R & B Video – Namie Amuro (Hide & Seek)

Best Album of the Year – EXILE (EXILE LOVE)
