According to recent reports, Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has removed herself from this year Emmy race because writers has reportedly not provide her with award-winning worthy material. As a recall the actress Katherine Heigl took home surprisingly the 2007 Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy Award for her role as Dr. Isobel Stevens on the ABC medical drama. This year Emmy nominations will be announced on July 17.

I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.
