According to reports, Janet Jackson will hit the road on her first tour in seven years this September with latest album, Discipline, debuted atop Billboard 200 chart in March. The R&B/pop singer announced the launch of her Rock Witchu Tour on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday with tickets going on sale June 7th.
Janet’s Rock Witchu North American Tour will open September 10th in Vancouver. The first five cities on the itinerary for her 2008 Rock Witchu North American Tour are Montreal, Toronto, Washington, DC, and New York City.

I love Janet & all… but her musical career is as dry as a bone now. This is a woman who used to sell 10 million copies every album, damn-near, and now is lucky to break a million. This is now a person who hasn’t gone multi-platinum in 7 years & we got a bunch of net bloggers still pretending she’s musically still relevant. It’s hypocritical.
If Beyonce were to have ONE album not sell as well as expected, some of you would be saying “She’s washed up, she needs to go sit down because she flopped.” Yet Janet can spend 7 years, dropping album after album & barely even hit a million, and no one wants to say she flopped. That’s a double standard. It’s OK to say we love her AND that she flopped. Doesn’t have to be an either-or.
