According to recent news, the talented jazz singer Amy Winehouse is leaving her label home at Island Records because she is starting her own music label. The habitual drug user, who was arrested on assault charges last Friday, is teaming up with Alex Haines, to launch her own record label.
It seems that Amy Winehouse is planning the move after the release of her next LP as she is on a three-album deal with the British-based firm, a subsidiary of Universal Music.
She’s been planning it with Alex, who has a bit of music know-how from working as her manager’s assistant….Her deal with Island ends after the next record. That’s why they are trying to get her to clean up first and make sure it’s a classic.
…She wants to set up her own label. She plans to release her own material on it, as well as her mates like Tyler James and Remi Nicole.
