The seven months pregnant Nicole Kidman, 40 was in New York City recently completing her duties as UNIFEM Goodwill Ambassador at a press conference against violence towards women at the United Nations. Oscar winner and mother to be Nicole Kidman, who kicked off the UN-sponsored “Say No to Violence against Women” campaign, is using her celebrity status in order to end violence against women. Kidman speech was more than clear, giving a strong message among women and not only.  

One in three women will encounter violence in some way, shape or form against them in their lifetime. That’s an extraordinary statistic. Yet do we ever hear it?

I’m a mother, I have a child on the way, I have two children in the world and a lot of (my motivation) is about realizing the things that are wrong and how can I contribute.  What are the things I can contribute to help my children have a better life and help other children around the world have a better life and other citizens of the world have a better life.
