The Hollywood Celebrity couple Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were looking their best at the First Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday (February 21). Among honorees in the category of film were the actress/director/producer/screenwriters Jada Pinkett Smith and in the category of Television, screenwriter/producer Suzanne de Psse, as well as the young performer Jurnee Smollett.
The star-studded event honored three of Hollywood’s finest who have helped to change and inspire positive images of Black women in television and film both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes.
The icon whose career as a writer, producer and world renowned actor spans seven decades, Ruby Dee was one of the three extraordinary African- American women honored, during the Essence luncheon.
