21-year-old actor Penn Badgley has been catapult into superstardom following the success of his hit TV series ‘Gossip Girl’, but some claim the actor may be destined for a world of comparison.
Despite his striking resemblance to music legend John Mayer, Penn Badgley is facing a different train of thought. While some adore his underdog geek, TV critics have cried out about the striking similarities between his ‘Gossip Girl’ character Dan Humphreys, to The OC character ‘Seth Cohen’, claiming the quirky comedic lines and the “not so different, dork gets the prom queen” story lines ring identical to the blossoming romance between Seth and Summer Roberts in the recently canceled teen cult drama.
Despite the generic type-casting, ‘Gossip Girl’ has recently been picked up for a second series.
