Kanye West’ eight Grammy nominations

Hip-Hop/Rapper heavyweight Kanye West has many reasons to be happy about as he has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards. Kanye West received the most nominations for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The singer was nominated for Album of the Year for Graduation, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Album, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and received two nominations in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories, for a grand total of 8 nominations.

However it sounds like he’s still taking some time to deal with the recent death of his mother. West cancelled his appearance at the KDWB Jingle Ball recently, citing an unspecified ‘family matter.’

We tried to get [West] on the air to explain all this to fans, but he refused. We did everything we could to save this thing.
