According to reports, country singer Kenny Chesney has slammed rappers 50 Cent and Kanye West for ignoring the fact that his album is due on the same time as their upcoming records. The Hip-Hop stars are set to drop their albums 50′ Curtis and West’ Graduation on September 11th and they both sees it as a challenge to be #1 on the sales chart. The thing is Chesney, you are from a different league, no one is ignoring you. The two rappers think the competition is just between them because they’ve challenged one another. It’s a war of words of who will sell the most albums, but if you want to the enter the game, hope in. A lot of albums drop in the fall, but Chesney’ new album Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates is also released on the same day, that should count for something. Chesney upcoming album is 11th studio record while his last 4 albums have debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts.
As things are looking right now we just might now the winner, history tells us Kenny Chesney latest album “The Road and The Radio” beat out the “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” soundtrack. However 50 cent said at one point that if he does not sell more then Kanye West that he would retire from music. I bet there won’t be any delays…
It’s funny how with every record that comes out, we’re aware of the urban (competition), and none of those acts acknowledge that I exist – until I have that No. 1 debut on the Top 200.
