It has been announced today that pop singer Justin Timberlake and R&B star Beyonce have topped the list of this year’ VMA nominations with seven nominations each. Other celebrities who might be among MTV Video Music Awards winners’ are Hip-Hop singer Kanye West and pop star Rihanna who each have five nominations while Jazz singer Amy Winehouse received three. Reports say MTV’s VMAs will be handed out at Las Vegas’ Palms Casino Resort on September 9.

Timberlake, Beyonce, Rihann, Kanye West and Amy Winehouse are up for Video of the Year. West, Timberlake, Akon, Robin Thicke and T.I. are nominated for Male Artist of the Year, while Winehouse, Beyonce, Rihanna, Fergie and Nelly Furtado are nominated for Female Artist of the Year.

For the Best New Artist nominees are Winehouse, Carrie Underwood, Gym Class Heroes, Lily Allen and Peter, Bjorn and John, and don’t forget the winner of this category will be determined by the fans, who can vote at www.VMA.MTV.com
