According to the news, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has visited the first eco-friendly home in a construction project. It is no secret that Brad Pitt supports hurricane victims from New Orleans though he called the hurricane a “man-made disaster” in an interview with the US broadcaster NBC. The actor got involved in the city’s clean-up operation in the devastated Lower Ninth Ward neighbourhood and reportedly eco-designed the 18-unit housing project which was built by Global Green USA. The constructions are designed to use 40% less energy than standard homes through roof-mounted solar panels.

Pitt, who chaired the competition to design the houses. What if a city could actually produce more energy than it consumed? What if it could actually filter the air instead of pollute the air? This is a new paradigm that we’re going to have to adopt. It’s a long time coming, but we’re going to have to start now and start advancing these technologies.
