According to the Recording Academy, R&B Celebrity Mary J. Blige tops Grammy nominees list – with eight nominations – for the 49th annual Grammy Awards. Blige’s nominations are in the R&B field, which including for best female R&B vocal performance, the best R&B album category and record of the year. In other Celebrity news, Mary J. Blige won nine trophies at the Billboard Awards and last month earned her two more (Soul/Rhythm and Blues: Female artist and Album) at American Music Awards.

Performances from Fergie, Josh Kelley and John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting and among other multiple nominees are Red Hot Chili Peppers, with six; James Blunt, Prince and will.i.am with five; and Beyonce, T.I, and “SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlake, with four.

The 49th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be hosted by R&B singer Jamie Foxx, will be held on “Grammy Sunday,” Feb. 11, 2007, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
