
Colombian Pop/Latin Celebrity sensation Shakira dominated the seventh Latin Grammy ceremony in New York recently winning four Latin Grammy Awards during the event at Madison Square Garden. It has been a magical night for Shakira, who also performed a steamy rendition of her Grammy-award winning hit, “La Tortura”, used one of her acceptance speeches to pay tribute to millions of Hispanic immigrants saying ‘came to this country with a dream, as I did one day.’ The four Latin Grammy Awards are: Album of the Year fo her album, Fijacion Oral Vol. 1, the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album, her song, “La Tortura,” a duet with Alejandro Sanz – the Song of the Year Award along with the Record of the Year Award.
The 2006 Latin Grammy honored performers in 47 categories and among other winners of Latin Grammy Awards ceremony were: reggaeton duo Calle 13 ( who took home three trophies: best new artist, shortform music video with “Atrevete Te, Te!” and best urban music album with their self-titled debut ) Mexican Singer Joan Sebastian ( who received two awards for best banda album with ‘Mas Alla del Sol’ and for best grupero album with ‘En el Auditorio Nacional’ ), or Argentine rocker Gustavo Cerati ( who took the awards for rock solo vocal album for ‘Ahi Vamos’ and rock song for the piano ballad “Crimen )
Performers at the event included Colombian Pop/Latin Celebrity sensation Shakira, Andrea Bocelli and Ricky Martin, who was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

She didn’t deserve them. Her voice sucks and her only talent is dancing. Overrated.
