The R&B Celebrity Beyonce is set to show up at the inaugural Thisday Music Festival in Nigeria, which celebrates the nation’s independence from Britain in 1960. The event, which takes place in Lagos on October 7, features music icons starting with Beyonce’s boyfriend, Jay Z, continuing with Ciara, En Vogue, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes. In other Celebrity news, the Hip-Hop star Jay-Z marked his return to the London stage with a surprise duet and invited Beyonce on stage at Wembley Arena on Sunday evening to perform a version of her hits ‘Crazy In Love’ and ‘Deja Vu’.
It’s a great thrill to come to West Africa for the first time to celebrate Nigeria’s independence. I feel blessed for this opportunity for my all-female band and me to appear on stage with some of the world’s most talented artists and share the universal message of peace, hope and beauty that music brings to all of us.
