According to the news, last week hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) is being sued by 40/40 Club interior designer Ilan Waisbod, alleging that the Club’s owner reproduced his decor designs for a new 40/40 Club without his permission. In the lawsuit the designer claims that the re-use of similar designs was a violation of the club’s agreement with his design firm, Studio Gaia.
The New York Post reported that the design, complete with flat-screen televisions, hanging chairs and a Lucite safe to guard the Cognac and other highly-priced spirits, was used by Jay-Z for a second 40/40 Club in Atlantic City. Jay-z was having great plans to open clubs with similar interiors in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Singapore. No other details are known, hopefully Jay-z rep will soon have something to say to the press.
In other celebrity news, Jay’s Rocawear clothing line announced that actress/model Jaime King would become the new face of the line, alongside supermodel Naomi Campbell.
