
Big names like Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey and hp-hop star 50 Cent were named in the Forbes Magazine’s annual “Celebrity 100 Power List.” The top spot of the list was taken by actor and new dad Tom Cruise with $67 million in earnings last year as well as the publicity surrounding his romance with Katie Holmes, and his appearance on the “Oprah” show.
According to Forbes, the hip-hop celebrity 50 Cent earned around $41 million between June of 2005 and June 2006 (thanks to income generated from record and ringtone sales as well as his G-Unit clothing line) landing him at the No. 8 position, beating celebrities like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton and the cast of HBO’s “The Sopranos”.
The magazine said the stars on its Celebrity 100 Power List were ranked according to their earning power for the 12 months beginning last June.
