Lance Armstrong

The Amsterdam-based International Cycling Union announced on Wednesday, that Lance Armstrong has been cleared of doping charges, being revealed that the tests on the urine samples were conducted improperly and can not “constitute evidence of anything”. A Dutch investigator Emile Vrijman - who was appointed by cycling’s governing body to investigate the handling of the urine tests by the French national anti-doping laboratory - cleared the record seven-time Tour de France champion.

French sports daily newspaper L’Equipe reported last year that six urine samples provided by Armstrong during the first of his seven Tour de France championships in 1999 tested positive for the EPO, formally known as erythropoietin. It seems EPO was on the list of banned substances at the time Armstrong won the first of his seven Tour de France races.
