R&B celebrity Alicia Keys donate a New York City teen’s high school one of her red carpet dresses. Alicia Keys donated the dress, a blue Tracy Reese creation that she wore to the Naacp Image Awards, to 18-year-old Maloune Samuel and she will wear the gown to her prom at New York City’s Washington Irving High School on June 2nd.
R&B celebrity worked with non-profit organization Operation Fairy Dust, which collects previously worn dresses and gives them to disadvantaged girls, Samuel being one of five winners of the group’s essay contest.
It’s like a dream come true. I feel like princess. I want Alicia to know how amazing this was for me.

I’ve always respected Alicia Keys, and I think it’s pretty cool of her to donate a prom dress to an underprivileged girl. It’s also cool that she chose the winner based on an essay contest, so the choice was not entirely arbitrary. Rock on, Alicia!
I am not an underprivileged girl. I entered an essay contest and was told that I would win $200. Who wouldn’t write an essay for money? Anyway the $200 was not given to me, but I was told that I could participate in a ribbion cutting ceremony. When I attended the ceremony I was told that Alicia Keys donated a dress. Right then I decided that I wanted that dress and picked it out. The media fabricated this story. Just wanted to put that out there!
