The gown designed by Vera Wang worn by Keira Knightley to this year’s Oscars ceremony sold for $7,855 to a Chicago bidder in an online auction. The British celebrity Keira Knightley, who was nominated for a best actress Oscar for “Pride & Prejudice,” said she had wanted to support the Oxfam – British charity’s efforts to provide food and clean drinking water in East Africa by offering the dress she wore to the 2006 Academy Awards ceremony as a Best Actress nominee.
The dress designer Vera Wang supported the celebrity’s decision to put a U.S. size two dress up for sale and as a result not only that the beautiful dress was sold but also gathered 2,500 users logged on to watch the closing minutes of the auction.
