According to the news, hip-hop stars Kanye West, Jadakiss, Paul Wall and Tego Calderon will head to Sierra Leone, Africa, for the documentary Bling: A Planet Rock, a film that chronicles the diamond wars of Sierra Leone and how hip-hop’s ‘bling’ culture of wearing flashy jewellery. The movie ‘Bling: A Planet Rock’ is being co-produced with US network Vh1 and part of the film’s budget is being funded by the United Nations. What is interesting is that a part of the proceeds from the film will go to charity.
In other celebrity news, though appearing over half an hour late, hip-hop celebrity Kanye West scored the biggest crowd so far at the Californian festival – Coachella Plus, singing also ‘Diamonds From Sierra Leon’, ‘All Falls Down’ and ‘Gold Digger’.
