The pop celebrity Jennifer Lopez is being sued by a TV writer – Jack Bunick – who claims she and UPN took his idea for a series based on his move from Brooklyn to Miami and set against the world of modeling and nightclubs.
According to Associated Press reports, the lawsuit also names CBS TV, Viacom Networks Inc. and Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions company and claims that the series South Beach, executive-produced by Lopez, copies a script he wrote in 1999 for a pilot episode of a show that would have been called South Beach Miami. The Latin celebrity Jennifer Lopez has yet not commented.Bunick is seeking monetary damages and an injunction barring further broadcasting of South Beach, which debuted January 11 but has since been canceled.
