R&B celebrity Alicia Keys has joined the cast of the upcoming film adaptation of The Nanny Diaries, according to Variety. The movie will begin production next month in New York and is expected to be released in 2007.
Based on the book by Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin, the movie stars Johansson as a working-class woman from New Jersey who becomes a nanny to a wealthy Manhattan family. Alicia Keys a college student that becomes a nanny for a rich family in New York, the role of best friend to Scarlet Johansson’s lead character. Paul Giamatti will play Mr. X, the brood’s imposing patriarch, while Chris Evans will play the Park Avenue hunk who steals Johansson’s heart.
