Three 6 Mafia wins Oscar Song Award

Three 6 Mafia Oscar

On Sunday, at the 78th Annual Academy Awards, hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia enjoyed a rare moment of Oscar glory for the hip-hop community. Three 6 Mafia scored an Oscar by bringing the first rap/hip-hop song to the broadcast when they performed “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp,” which earned a best original song nomination for “Hustle & Flow.”

At the awards the hip-hop group was introduced by fellow rapper Ludacris who remind us that past winners in the best song category include song titles such as “Shaft”, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and “Morning After.”
