As anticipated the 78th Annual Academy Awards kicked off with silk, bows, ruffles and enough diamonds to make a definite return to the glamour of old Hollywood. Celebrities like Felicity Huffman, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston, Catherine Keener and Hilary Swank wore dark dresses. Keira Knightley was wearing a creation by Vera Wang and a large vintage Bulgari necklace. Charlize Theron stood out in a black panelled creation with an almost thigh-high split up the front and an enormous flouncy bow on one shoulder, while winner of the Best Actress award Reese Witherspoon was in a pale cream dress.
