Female celebrities like Pink, Lindsay Lohan, Zooey Deschanel, Scarlett Johansson and Britney Spears are battling it out to see for the coveted role of Janis Joplin in a new biopic. The movie, titled The Gospel According To Janis, will chronicle the life of the 1960s blues singer, who was known for her outrageous performances.
The film would start shooting in September and director Penelope Spheeris has already met with Pink, Lohan and Deschanel and still wants to speak with Johansson, but Britney Spears agent asked if she could meet with the pop celebrity. I don’t know why Britney insists, the movie needs someone with music talent like Pink.

Although I think no one can ever replace the late, great Janis Joplin, I think that Pink is vocally up to the task. With looks however, she will need a bottle of hair dye and a bunch of make up. She could also do with some work on making her voice raspier, smoking half a pack of ciggarettes maybe? But Pink definately has what it takes to play Janis. She is one of the few female singers that I will actually listen to, it must be because of her Janis- like charisma. As for Britney Spears playing Janis…Ha! That is the most rediculous idea on earth! My overweight tabby cat Cheech could do better than Britney!
