The R&B celebrity Mariah Carey has won best female album and best female single at the 20th Annual Soul Train Music Awards. Mariah Carey, who won three Grammys last month, won best female album with The Emancipation of Mimi, and best single with We Belong Together. John Legend won best male album with Get Lifted and best male single for his track Ordinary People. Honorary awards went to Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Destiny’s Child and R Kelly while Chris Brown was named best new rap artist for his album Run It and Kanye West won in the best R&B/soul or rap music video category for Gold Digger.
