Poor Katie Holmes…, Tom Cruise has reportedly given pregnant fiancee an MP3 player -iPod – loaded with music to help her stay silent during child birth. If you think Cruise is out of his mind, you wouldn’t say that because Katie Holmes has reportedly agreed to deliver her baby in total quiet, thanks to a bizarre Scientology tradition.
According to The Sun, the Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has brought a hi-tech iPod and selected over 300 tracks to help Katie keep silent. My question: is there a song in this world that can make you stay quiet during a birth? Many would say its a mission impossible.
If that wasn’t enough, yesterday it was revealed that Katie Holmes will give birth surrounded by huge white signs reminding her to stay silent, like “Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable.”
What man want the mother of his child to listen music through her earphones so there’s no noise in the delivery room?

The signs weren’t to remind KATIE to be quiet — silly people. The signs were for the doctors and nurses.
I’m a Scientologist and when I had my babies we had signs, too – taped to the outside of the door, by the nurses, to remind people entering the room to abide by my wishes and keep quiet.
The understandable and slow movements is nothing I have read in Scientology, but is something LeBoyer recommended.
You need to take what the media dishes out with a grain of salt.
By the way – Scientologist can give birth any way they please, but many Scientologist MOTHERS insist that silence be attempted during labor and birth — but it’s up to US. (We make as much noise as we need during labor and birth, but do ask that the nurses and doctors refrain from chitchatting about the weather and their plans for the weekend while we are in such agony! To me, it’s just a simple matter of respect for the birthing mother…)
[...] If you haven’t guess already, Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has reportedly refused to release pictures of baby daughter Suri because of his Scientology beliefs. It seems but Scientology doctrine teaches followers of the sci-fi cult to avoid taking newborn babies out unless absolutely necessary. Because Tom Cruise is such a devout follower of the bizarre faith, founded by science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, before Suri was born, it was claimed that Katie would have to give birth in silence. Scientologists believe babies should enter the world without any outside noise to stop them from being mentally scarred by the delivery. [...]
