According to the news, George Clooney, the winner of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in “Syriana” has donated his decadent Oscar gift bag to the United Way. The gift bag includes, among other items, a BlackBerry, a Kay Unger kimono and a cultured Tahitian-pearl necklace. Hollywood actor’s donation is more special as George Clooney won his first-ever Oscar.
George Clooney Oscar gift bag will be sold in an online auction to benefit the United Way Hurricane Response and Relief Recovery Fund, that will begin March 21 on the United Way Web site. The happy winner will also receive a handwritten thank-you note from the this year Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor Oscar winner, George Clooney.

I don’t agree with his politics but giving to charity gets him points in my book.
It is nice of him to give away his expensive gift bag, but that gift bag was free. He didn’t pay for it so he didn’t really loose anything. When he starts giving away his own money to charity, then I will be impressed.
